Bridges of Maine serves individuals diagnosed with many developmental and cognitive disabilities. All services are covered by MaineCare through the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Child and Family Services/ Children’s Behavioral Health and the Office of Adults with Cognitive and Physical Developmental Services. All persons receiving our services need to be actively enrolled in MaineCare. Specific diagnoses presently covered include those on the Autism Spectrum and Mental Retardation, though because regulations change from time to time regarding qualifying diagnoses please contact us for detailed current information.
We’re happy to help you determine whether or not any individual might be eligible for our services and/or help refer you to a more appropriate service; we’re also happy to help with navigating through the eligibility and approval process – don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions you may have!
The Department works with all state providers on a variety of important initiatives to improve the quality of our services. Bridges Of Maine fully supports these efforts; two of which include being an agency that is both trauma informed (operating within a state-wide system of care) and co-occurring disability capable. Our staff receives training to recognize and address the needs of the individuals we serve and to work cooperatively with other agencies to provide the best and most appropriate care possible, and to make all appropriate referrals if service is needed that we do not provide.
